The Stihl iMow - Is it Any Good?

For most people, mowing the lawn is either a nice excuse to get outside. For others, it’s a boring task that is best avoided. If you find yourself in the latter camp, the Stihl iMow can be a gift. If you like a lovely lawn but you don’t like maintaining it, then the iMow robot mower may be for you.

Ending the ‘Boom and Bust’ Lawn Cycle

For those of us who dislike mowing the lawn, we will tend to get it done somewhat infrequently. This means that your lawn looks pristine – for a few days at a time. And then reverts to a shabby overgrowth. The Stihl iMow can do away with this cycle. By coming out constantly for a ‘touch up’ it can maintain your grass at the perfect height at all times. The iMow comes with a scheduling system so you can have your grass cut at a time that best suits you.

Suitable for Gardens of all sizes

The iMow range comes in different configurations to accomodate the smaller sized yards and the largest. This means you only need to pay for the technology your lawn needs. On the lower end of the scale is the RMI 422, which can cut a lawn area of up to 800 square metres.

For the largest lawns, the Stihl RMI 632 PC is the optimal choice. IT can cover areas of up to 5,000 square metres. If it needs to recharge it will return to its charging dock automatically, recharge, then get back to completing the job. You can configure your RMI 632 PC from the mower itself, or using the app available for your phone or tablet, or PC.

Stihl iMow – Is it Any Good for Safety?

The iMow has sensors and safety features to keep children and pets safe from harm while it is in use. If the iMow detects a child, passer-by or animal in its vicinity it will deactivate. However, to ensure safety it is best to keep animals and children out of the working area while the iMow is in use.
